Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Brunswick County Criminal History, including its articles and search tools. Visiting or using the site indicates acceptance. A person who does not agree should discontinue use.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated site has no government affiliation and is not a consumer reporting agency or private investigation firm. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service for any purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The content is a reference to official Brunswick County and North Carolina record sources.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independent of every court, law-enforcement office, and state agency. It does not store official criminal records, perform official checks, retrieve files, or submit documents.

The content identifies custodians such as the Brunswick County sheriff, the Clerk of Superior Court, NCSBI, NCDAC, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Some pages also connect to outside search services.

2. Rules for Using This Site

A visitor agrees not to:

  • Use the site in violation of federal, North Carolina, or local law
  • Threaten, stalk, intimidate, or harass another person with information found here
  • Use site content for a decision regulated by the FCRA
  • Gain or attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
  • Deploy a bot, scraper, or other automated extraction tool
  • Interfere with performance or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from this site or a linked tool may not be used to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate. North Carolina registry data is published for lawful public-safety awareness. Misuse against a listed person can lead to criminal prosecution or civil liability. Vigilante conduct is forbidden.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create a consumer report, credit report, or official background check. Data from this site or a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Make a credit or lending decision
  • Evaluate a person for work
  • Review a housing application
  • Set insurance eligibility or rates
  • Perform any other FCRA-regulated evaluation

A legally permitted official process should be obtained from NCSBI or another provider authorized for the specific purpose.

5. No Legal Advice

The material is general information, not legal advice. A licensed North Carolina attorney should address how a charge, warrant, conviction, or expunction law applies to an individual matter.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are supplied "as is." We do not warrant that:

  • Information is always current, complete, or accurate
  • Access will be continuous or uninterrupted
  • The pages contain no error, vulnerability, or defect
  • An outside search result is complete or correctly matched

Charges and record status can change through filing, dismissal, correction, sealing, or expunction. Only the originating Brunswick County or North Carolina office can make an official statement about its record.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

External links lead to government offices, courts, legal resources, and private services that we do not operate. Their terms, availability, data practices, content, and charges are their responsibility. Review those terms before using the destination.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Brunswick County Criminal History or the applicable content partner. Copying, adapting, or distributing protected material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from site use, linked services, or reliance on information found through either.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, actions, fees, and costs arising from that user's conduct or violation of these terms.

11. Governing Law

North Carolina law governs these terms. Any dispute related to site use must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in North Carolina.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. An updated version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend or terminate access at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in force. The affected provision is limited only as needed to make it enforceable.
